me:75% < wife:100%

So we are now 75% through our PCP. Or we have 25% more to go. However we look at it, there is still more to do, and not much time left; it is not the beginning of the end, but the end of the beginning.
During these past 68 days I have struggled hopelessly to make the perfect hard-boiled egg.
And failed.
On a whim, my wife -- love of my life, mother of my two awesome kids, reason for my existence -- decided to hard-boil some eggs.
They are perfect. PERFECT. The egg-white is tender and not overdone. The yolk is bright orange, a solid ball but not chalky and greenish-yellow. The shell simply falls off effortlessly, no cling, no mess.
*sigh*
One would think that after 15 years with this woman I would stop being surprised at her prowess over me in everything similar we attempt. Alas, I have so much more to learn. Specifically: her hard-boiled egg recipe!

  1. The funny thing is she'll have no idea how she did it! Some people just have the magic touch.

  2. The egg, the egg, the egg. One's relationship to the egg gets very complex during the PCP.
