five by five

Headed down to YG for the traditional Monday Evening Session With Patrick (new photo coming soon.) He changed up the exercises a bit so that he could check my form on chest dips and v-sits, so besides pistol squats and hellacious pull-ups and push-ups and shoulder raises we did some of those, plus planks which I figured out how to do correctly; less back, more abs (hint: WIDEN the shoulder blades!)
Numbers all look excellent, and Patrick ran a quick but incredibly motivating back-o-the-envelope calculation: in five weeks I've burned off about 5 kilos of fat.
FIVE KILOS OF FAT.
Picture a one liter bottle of coke.
Full of fat.
Now imagine strapping five of those onto your belt and carrying it around all day.
No wonder I feel a spring in my step!
When I got home I took Erik's advice and grilled up some carrots and cucumbers. Wow, he wasn't kidding; sweet and savory!
Also steamed a bunch of broccoli and onion. Lunch and dinner this week are gonna rock!
Fridge is almost empty but groceries are delivered every Wednesday...though I can't remember what I ordered last week. More of the same I am sure. It being early spring there isn't much variety in the availability of fresh veggies just yet, and I ain't going imported-from-Brazil so I will eat what we got local. It's all good!
