half-way

Day 45 out of 90. I am simultaneously thrilled to have more PCP behind than ahead of me, shocked at how quickly the first 6 weeks have gone by, worried about how much more I want to do, and curious as to how it will end up.
Son is still sick with a fever so wife and son getting no sleep. At least we kept each other company as I went about my late-night routine of veggie prep and bento-making, which included making daughter's lunch, too.
Landlord fixed the washing machine (yeah!) but not the light and fan over the stove (boo!) and work is absolutely kicking me hard. Which just motivates me harder to kick back. Now would be a perfect time to say "I am too tired to do my jumps in the morning" -- all the more reason I WILL do them.
Also, and totally randomly, today not one but two people told me "You ok? You look kinda green." Checked myself in the mirror and didn't notice any difference in color...and actually feel like those amps in Spinal Tap that go to 11; I am ON and Full Power.
Today when exercising I was wearing my kinda 80s short-shorts (not Richard Simmons short, but above-the-knee short) because I had not done laundry in a while, and during the lunges I noticed some serious muscle definition on my thighs and calfs. Haven't really been paying attention to my lower body; already had pretty meaty legs so I've been more egotistically fixated on my abs, chest, back, and shoulders. But DAMN I got some leg muscles goin' on!

Reminds me of the story Jinkan Banji Sayo ga Uma, which is an old fable about a guy in China and his horse, and how bad situations lead to good things, and good situations lead to bad outcomes, cue endless loop.

  1. Yeah, it's never possible to know if anything is ever good or bad, you just stay in the moment and dance with what comes!

  2. That is a great story - I use it with people I work with and my kids.

I also love the Spinal tap reference, "ours go to 11" classic. While I am not experience the power surge you are...I am feeling pretty good and quite excited about where the next 45 days will take me.

Sorry someone is sick - that is no fun.

    Go Team Go!
